Pasta With Crab Meat,Chili and Lime



Pasta with crab is a unique blend of contrasting tastes. The crab is marinated in lime and chilli, which gives it an extra kick, and makes the dish particularly delicious.

Serving for 4 people

Time taken for preparation- 40 minutes

Ingredients:

  1.          Crab meat from 4 crabs
  2.          1 clove of garlic- crushed
  3.          1- small red chilli pepper finely chopped
  4.          � cup of parsley leaves- chopped
  5.          1 table spoon sea salt
  6.          Freshly ground black pepper- as per your taste
  7.          � cup extra virgin olive oil
  8.          Juice from two limes
  9.          Jest of a lime to garnish the dish
  10.          Cheese grated as per your taste
  11.          Pasta fusilli- 400 gram
  12.          Bell peppers- diced and deseeded- 1 cup
  13.          Shallots- sliced- 1cup
  14.          Beans- � cup of chopped beans
  15.          Carrots- sliced thinly-1 cup

Direction to preparation:

         Cook the crab meat separately in oil, with salt and pepper until it is thoroughly cooked. The meat should be tender to the core and the smell of the raw crab meat should be completely eradicated. One can also try marinating the crab meat in vinegar before cooking.
         Boil the pasta in a pot full of water with some olive oil and a pinch of salt. Ensure that the water is boiling before you put the pasta in the water. Let the pasta boil in the water for around 10 minutes. Once it is soft and firm to bite drain the water from the pasta. Hold the pasta under the running cold water on a perforated dish and ensure that the pasta is drained and does not stick to each other into a lump.
         In a pan heat oil and add the carrots, beans, bell peppers, shallots, salt and pepper to taste. Stir them properly until the vegetables are cooked almost. Add the cooked crab meat and stir once more properly. Do so till the vegetables are cooked completely.
         Add the lime juice, parsley leaves, pepper and chilli to the vegetables that are cooking after this. Ensure that all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed and stirred so that they are cooked uniformly. Put the pasta in with the stirred vegetables and then put the lid on for five minutes and let it cook in the steam. The pasta should absorb the flavours of the vegetables and the crab. The flavour of lime and crab should be dominant and if one needed can reduce the use of the vegetables to make sure the flavours of the crab meat stands out.

         Serve the pasta in separate bowls. This particular recipe of pasta is filling and perfect for having cold or hot. Do make sure that you do not overdo the chilli and pepper and the taste is balanced enough. One can also opt for adding meat of any kind and even prawns or go completely vegan with the preparation. Since this particular pasta is rather on the dry side, you can easily take up a side dish with gravy to make a filling meal.
